Is there any better combination? Coffee......goooood, Candles......goooood, Crochet.........goooood. With the holidays behind us, I was looking for something to help us indulge in a little relaxation. I saw a picture of the coffee beans and candle displayed in a ramekin cup and thought, why not crochet one? I though it came out great! (Would probably look better with a white tea light but this was all I had at the time). VERY simple  (takes about 30 minutes) to make and a FREE Pattern as well! NOTE: Never leave a burning candle unattended and due to the soft nature of crochet, never move this while it's lit.

Though I write all the posts on this website, I am also a guest blogger at crochetspot.com. I recently created this item for that website and wanted to share it with my readers as well.  You can go to: Loopy Pine Cone Pattern to get the pattern for yourself. I hope you enjoy it!

With the holidays upon us, I'm finding myself busier than usual this year (still haven't put up a tree!). I just thought I'd offer some photos of what I've been spending my (spare) time creating. I've been designing like crazy with the Crochet Over Rope technique and just using the jute as the main medium as well - as you can see in this photo. This particular basket stands over 13" tall and took several hours to complete, given the difficulty of working with this fiber. BUT I think many good things are going to come of it. Please check back as I will be posting more items - and they are all going to be for sale as well soon.

The "Bad Girls" are here! With straps and studs and inset crocheted lace, even the meekest can convey their tough side! Tightly crocheted with a small hook, these offer LOTS of warmth, style, elegance and class. And you won't believe what the studs are made from (you probably have them in your house!). Made from basic stitches, the pattern also offers a multitude of pictures for any possible challenges. It's easier than it looks and the result is, well, stunning!  Click here to read more.

From a distance, these can look like Indian Pottery. Up closer, and they can resemble woven baskets with beads. But they're not, they ARE crocheted!

Today's offering is not a pattern, but a free tutorial. Why? After exploring the technique of crocheting over rope, I realized that there are so many variances, that I couldn't figure out a pattern! I'm sure one can be done, but once you attempt this fun, but challenging method, you'll see what I mean. Click here to read about it and to get started on your own project!

I don't know about you, but with the price of gold today, all of it I currently own is probably all I'll ever have! But you can get a comparable extravagant look with some gold cotton thread and this pattern.   With plenty of time for the upcoming holiday parties, you can make this in an evening and customize it with your own color of beads to match your outfit! There are only 4 rows of crocheting for this project! The pattern is for a 16" necklace but enlargement/reduction instructions are included so you can make it any size you desire. Try it in different colors, try it without beads, however you like it, it will get noticed!  Click here to see more.

So as I said yesterday, here are the cutest mittens ever! They can be embellished with all sorts of things on the cuff. You can make them in many colors - even striped. Make the cuffs in a contrasting color - the varieties are pretty endless on them. AND...These mittens crochet up in no time! Once you get the hang of it, you can make a pair in just over an hour. The easy to follow pattern comes in two sizes - one for men, one for women. Made with Super Chunky yarn, you can have a great gift for about $5.00. ALSO... included in the pattern are instructions to make these into Wrist Warmers (if that's your preference) - great for a lot of teens. To see more, click here.

I'm getting caught up finally! There are now several new patterns listed, and many more on the way - check them out here.  There's also a new FREE pattern today! I will soon be writing posts open for conversation and would love to hear what you'd like to see here. There will be more tutorials and open discussions in an effort to help you become the best crafter you can be. Getting to the full range of patterns I would like to have available is definitely taking longer than I anticipated, but I think you'll agree, as we grow, it'll be worth the wait.

Your input is important. Though I have hundreds of designs in mind to offer, I would rather have the patterns that you, the readers, are looking for posted first - so please feel free to put your requests in a comment. Have a great day and Happy Crocheting!

As I promised my readers a pattern a day, I've already blown it! ha ha ha! Well, not really. I COULD have posted a pattern each day as I have many to publish. BUT inspiration cannot be dismissed! I had a wonderful design "come to me" as they all just do - in the middle of the night, during my shower, over my morning coffee, you know, whenever. And I had to get this pattern down in print. And had to create it, and take pictures, and over-explain everything, as I tend to do - making this project take years (ok days) longer than it should. But you won't be disappointed - it's a BIG one! Ok gotta get back to finishing this thing up! Good night all!
